I can only imagine what the whole kit would go for...

I've been searching for an LX 2000 Special Silver A1.2 (or whatever its name is) for a while. I surmise this lens comes from that kit...
Chrome SMC Pentax A 1:1.2 50mm Special - eBay (item 330277288733 end time Oct-14-08 09:29:54 PDT)
Opening bid US $2,550.00, BIN is US $2,850.00 USD, not Pesos or the old Turkish Lira... Meaning, that's not a typo!

....ssssoooo, if the lens is going for that alone, I guess I'll forget ever hoping to get the whole kit, "just to have"!

It's a beautiful looking lens in great condition. Shocking that he doesn't have the box listed. I'm not collector and would never consider something like this 'just to have'.

Well, black works just as well, so my desire to have it in silver was definitely superfluous. Would I have used it tho...? damn straight!

I've been seeing ridiculous & un-realistic BIN $ on eBay from China & Korea ; not so much from Japan. I think either they're just that out of touch, or just throwing things against a wall to see what will stick. Based on nothing more than pure speculation, I could perhaps see it go for $500 - $1000 in a real auction.... well, at least, that's what I'd be willing to pay for it.

...it took a while, but here it is! The whole complete kit:
Pentax LX 2000 LX2000 Limited + 50mm f/1.2 Special NEW - eBay (item 190272905900 end time Jan-08-09 09:00:24 PST)
BIN price is US $5,500.00 ... now I just have to figure out which bank I'm going to knock over... (for anyone reading without a sense of humor, I kid)

I'd buy it but the brown would clash with my black shoes...

that's a sweet looking camera, the brown leather goes really well instead of the classic black
