Ok no, it's not a lens, but i recently got this in the mail and i'm mildly in love with it

Just messed around with an old bass guitar case that i had and a single strobe. To take the above picture i used my fav lens:

I was amazed at how actually sharp it is, shooting at f8. Quite incredible.

And then the only mildly interesting lens i have left, bar the sigma 18-200 which doesn't deserve a spot is this:

A makinon 35mm f2.8

That's not a lens, this is a lens

Back in the days when glass was glass, weighed a ton, but boy it had class. The big one is a Mamiya 360mm f6.3 for a Mamiya RB67 (6cm x 7cm negative), the smallest is a 90mm f3.5 for a Mamiya 6x7 Universal Range Finder

It hurt to take them out of the case to photograph them. Oh well technology marches on. I certainly won't be going digital MF (No unless it takes Velvia)

These are my first foray into the fetish....club.

Excuse the terrible light, but it's a comparo between the radioactive (yellowed) Super Tak 50mm f/1.4 (on the right) and it's debatably also radioactive brother Super Tak 55mm f/1.8 (left).

I should have spent more time setting this one up, but I need mondo practice shooting "groups" of stuff like this, so expect to see more of these style shots, but hopefully not so terrible!

From L-R, Top-Bottom: A-T 135mm f/3.5 case, S-T 85mm f/1.9 case, S-M-C Tak 35mm f/3.5 case, Vivitar 36mm/20mm/12mm M42 extension tube set, Takumar 135mm f/3.5 hood, Auto Takumar 135mm f/3.5, Super Takumar 135mm f/3.5, group of caps, Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8, Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4, Super Takumar 85mm f/1.9.

S-M-C Takumar 35mm f/3.5 with 68mm of extension tube at f/8, aimed at Auto Takumar 135mm f/3.5:

S-T 50mm f/1.4 with 68mm of extension tube (Way darker than what I had it in post...):

Same as above:

An old favourite:

and a new purchase (although I realise, hardly a new lens):

Tadaa,
looks like Picasa has finally reversed its policy and it now is possible to constantly use their photos in this forum (or has Adam changed the forum's policies?).

M42 Zenitar ME-1 1.7/50. Two electric contacts. The coating looks very sophisticated.

f/2 aperture: not exactly rectangular (it is on the later f-stops)

The rest of the story,
Cheers, Georg (the other)

Here's some old fast lenses, although not quite the line-up Frank is sporting above.

I've got a few I can add...

A Takumar 300mm F4 on my then-new K-7.

18 beautiful blades...

This was playing around when I first got my K20D:

Another shot after just getting the K20D. Taken with the 10-17mm fisheye. Foreground lens is the Zenitar 16mm, next row is 50mm F1.4 and 31mm F1.8, then a Lester Dine 105mm macro, kit lens, and Super Tak 135mm, and finally a Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 and Vivitar S1 70-210mm v3 w/A contacts.

Preset Takumar 135mm F3.5; I like due to age and the 8-blade aperture.

Nikkor-Q 20cm F4 mounted on K100D.

How about a striptease to really get the fetishists going? A Zeiss 135mm fully clothed...

...and exposed for the world to see!
