Lately, I rarely use the JPGs out of the camera; I am usually only happy with RAW conversions that I've significantly labored over.

Yet somehow, the rendering from this lens [cosina 55/1.2] is almost 'perfect' to me right out of the camera. Surprisingly accurate exposure (green button is fantastic). Bold & contrasty, luscious & saturated ....phat.

Most of these are untouched other than straightening; a few had very slight curve adjustment. Sorry, can't tell you what f-stop as I didn't take notes... still really wish'n this was an A lens.

Late afternoon northern exposure sunlight...

Time to turn the lights on and open the aperture...

A different theme... who was that beavis, or butthead that said... "heaheahea.... fire!!! fire!!! fire!!!" beavis I think.

A mixing of themes...

I bought another one of these lenses. I hope to mod it to fit my Canon 5D. Possible?

thanks, i tried chasing that little bugger with the manual focus on this lens and just couldn't keep up with him. finally, i decided to just frame the shot and focus on one of the flowers and wait for him to get near it...that did the trick...let the subject fall into the frame...anybody have some Benadryl??
I also ended up with flaring because i do not have a hood for this lens. I fashioned a cardboard tube to get this shot.

what are most people using for a hood with the Cosina 55mm??

I should probably restate my question because i did find a great solution by Hinman in here about using a 58mm hood.

My problem is that all my filters are 67mm and i have been using a 58->67 step up ring to attach them to the Cosina. Is there a hood solution that allows me to keep 67mm filters with this lens?

help is appreciated...
Interestingly, the cardboard hood i "phoneyed-up" was cut from bright YELLOW stock and that bee was actually trying to land on it...perhaps not a bad idea to have Da-glo camera parts?

A 67mm tele hood from ebay will screw to your filter just fine.
