I guess I can blame the LBA pledge.

This went for a "Buy it Now" for $165 USD:
Pentax Honeywell 35mm film camera with five lenses - eBay (item 120342822594 end time Nov-30-08 18:57:45 PST)
I would love to have any of those lenses. A couple also appear to be the late version SMC Takumars. The worst part is that the seller is local to my area...

Steve

(Getting the LBA "shakes"...been almost 4 months since last lens...don't think about lost Super Taks...pain, oh! the pain!)

Half nothing...The body supposedly was in decent shape as well. If it is the same vintage as the lens mounted on the camera, it may have been a Spotmatic F. Double Arrrrggg!!!

I figure a value of at least $400 and maybe a bit more if all the lenses were Super-Multi-Coated or S-M-C and all were in the excellent condition as stated by the seller.

What a deal! The 20/4.5 Takumar lens alone would easily cost twice as much as the total amount ...

You must be ever vigilant.

<giant grin> <---- (they arrived yesterday)

The lenses are quite nice, all in immaculate condition. Going to try out the 135/2.5 tomorrow for some sports. BTW, they are all super-multi-coated except the 50/1.4, it is SMC.

That seller also has some other very nice listings. I would love to grab his 200/2.5 or 300/4...but I can live for now.

Yes indeed...It was listed under cameras even though the lenses are the real value items. (The body was probably no slouch either.) The seller probably sold the whole thing as a kit thinking that the stuff was hopelessly outdated, not realizing the value of the lenses to enthusiasts/collectors.

Very nice indeed. I guess it was your lucky day. Are you planning on using the Taks on the SP-F or are they destined for your dSLR?

Steve
Currently they are destined for use on my K200D, although I might give the spotmatic a spin to see how it does. One of the reasons I like taks on my DSLR (vs K or M) is that I can use Av mode and don't have to pres the green button, although do have to get the exposure compensation right for different apertures, but that's not too hard. That way I can stop down 1 stop, still be able to manually focus just fine, and still shoot in Av mode. Of course the K and M lenses are a bit more convenient since you don't have to fiddle with adapters.

I'm not sure which of these I'll use the most...I was really looking for a nice 135/2.5, and this fit the bill. And of course I'll need to try out the 20/4.5, that would should produce some nice images, but feel like I'm losing a bit from it due to the crop factor (but then again, I gain some on the 135 tele end).
