LBA: Polar 85mm f1.4

Got a new lens today...

Here is the package:

Poler 85mm f1.4

Here is the lens:

The are some test shoots with the lens:

http://www.iqlo.dk/Div/Foto/Polar/album3/

Used my K10D Bright mode and plus 1 in sharpen, jpg straight from camera no pp.

Test photos with crops:

Test with crops

Its pretty well build, but the lenshood seems flemsy and very cheap.....

The focusring is very very good and smooth....

Update: Feel free to download 17img taken with the lens, from f1.4 to f9....

30mb download:

www.iqlo.dk/Div/Foto/Polar/Samples/Polar_PKA.rar

Update:

Made some new test with the lens:

Compared with SMC-F 50mm f1.7 and my Kiron 105mm f2.8 Macro

www.iqlo.dk/Div/Foto/Polar/Test/Polar-test/

On the image it says what lens it is, exif says what apature it is.

Mayby something in the setup went wrong, due to the softness in the 50mm`s corners....??

Don`t really know, and I am not going to reshoot the damn test..... ;-)

Update again.....

Test images with crops.....

Throw it away. Who needs a hood?

Great!

I am wondering why this lens has an aperture ring.
It will stick at f1.4 all the time anyway.

Enjoy the lens!

In my view the best way to test a lens is by comparison with a known similar lens.
Tripod, same motive, same parameters, two lenses.

Sila's conclusions about this lens are the same as mine.

For the price the value is hard to beat.
