Vivitar 17-28mm f/4-4.5 lens examples.

Didn't know where to put this, move if needed

I picked up a mint-like Vivitar 17-28mm f/4-4.5 lens today. It's an "A" lens as well with a 72mm thread. Eager to see the results of a true 17mm wide rectilinear I burned through a roll and got it developed today. This is the first shot with it, just a quick scan, no pp. The 2nd image is using the M 28mm for comparison. I'll scan the rest in later tonight.

Just started to scan now, the first few look great. The Vivitar 17-28mm f/4-4.5 is in excellent condition. Metal body and mount, no marks anywhere. here it is on the Super Program;

Vivitar 17-28mm f/4-4.5 lens examples.

In the Film SLR section I mentioned I had bought a Vivitar 17-28mm f/4-4.5. This is a metal body and mount, FF, "A" and rectilinear lens. 103 degree view is pretty wide I got the film developed today and have posted a few examples below. Some sharpening, slight color adjustment and no distortion correction.

Click to see all images and also to see how wide it is against a M 28mm f/3.5.

I had the pentax FA-J 18-35 for a while. Super wides.... ah. Stop down and get close, really close. Looks like you've got the hang of it, I find anything below 28mm a bit of a challenge to work with. When I was new I got plenty of tiny, 'fit it all in' landscapes.

Thanks CSoars, it is quite the site when first looking through the view finder. I love this lens already.

Hi, sorry to bring up an old thread. I stumbled upon a Vivitar 17-something lens for Pentax. It was brand new old stock, made in the early 90's. It had very wide opening maybe 70mm or so. I just want to make sure it is the same lens as yours. Do you have any picture of the lens?

It was selling at $40, I wanted to buy it but when I inspect the mount, it had the famous Ricoh pin. My K-x was new, so I don't want to risk trying it. But, should it be OK?
