Dan Savoie of Pentax Canada was nice enough to let me mount this converted Nikkor on the new K-7.... I did have the DA*55 in my bag to show him I wasn't a complete freak! And I did urge him to tell his Pentax higher-ups, that there is obviously such a strong demand for a DA*28-ish lens that some of us were resorting to drastic measures

Thanks for the photo Dave!

I can handle Nikon, just as long as it wasn't a Canon lens, then I would be out for your head.

Dave, where did you get your Nikkor lens converted? How is it working on the Pentax body?

That's actually my lens, I did the conversion myself.

There's some limited scattered info on it here:

Just look for a Nikkor-to-Pentax K adapter on the "auctions site" ... I bought mine for a few euros about two years ago, and, since then, i'm enjoying a Micro-Nikkor 55/3.5, a Nikkor-O 35/2 and a Nikkor-Q 135/2.8 on my K10D (of course, without infinity focus, but i don't care too much about this issue) ...

Just an unprocessed sample with the Micro 55/3.5 at f/8 on my K10D:

If you want to check the full-res picture, just click on it ...

No, that's not how this lens was 'converted'.

Please read Augustmoon's post above. This lens (his lens) has a real K-mount grafted onto it.
