Pentax DA 12-24mm f4.0 Praise

Well if we are going to be praising lenses here, I just have to say that the Pentax DA 12-24 f4.0 lens is one of the finest in the Pentax arsenal. One of the reasons I have NOT opted to go for the 15 Ltd. In fact, it is as sharp as some of my primes. This is one of the lenses I reach for when in tight spots or just looking for that perspective that only this lens can attain.

I would love to see images by those taken with this gem of a lens.

This image shot at 12mm at f8.0

Not exactly in your caliber, but here goes:

This is from my last trip to NYC. That is the controversial guard house by the Mayor's office.

This one from New Orleans.

Nicely done Ben.
Never thought of it being used in fashion photography, but there you go...

I ALWAYS use it when appropriate for Fashion. Just think of it this way. It is your 12, 14, 15, 18, 21 & 24 mm f4.0 lenses all bundled in to "1" very tight, sharp and well made package.

I have to agree. And Benjamin, your work with the DA12-24 was a big part of what made me choose it over the Sigma 10-20 when I was deciding on an ultra-wide-angle lens.

Not that I actually use it as well as you do, but that's another thing entirely

The only Pentax zoom I've owned that equals the optical quality of my single focal length lenses.

Every time I've entertained the idea of selling this lens for another, I look through my photos and realize that most of my best pics are taken with it!

12-24 sure is a fine lens. I opted for the Sigma 10-20.
Ben, that's a super shot.
Miguel, I love that first one.
Song, I agree with you on that scooter shot.
Gnaztee, I really like the stadium shot.

Incredible shot, Ben, and Gnatzee, that stadium shot is just pure gold.

I have some fun shots from this lens, nothing approaching art like those,
but I do like how it handles the straight-into-sun stuff:

Excellent images all around! Thanks for reminding me that this lens has other uses than making money. I think I'll put it on the camera more often. meanwhile, heres one from jewel cave in south dakota
