A Pentax LX 2000 with the 50mm f/1.2 Special is a bit cheaper, and in my opinion has much better aesthetics.

I agree 100%. The gold one is actually quite hideous in my opinion.

I agree... and the 50/1.2 from LX2000 would actually match my silver ltds but the gold 50/1.2 would look great on K10D GP

Just got my Porst 55mm f1.2. Few test shots so far pretty happy with it. Really hard to nail down the focus at f1.2 though

it only took me two tries at a local pickup volleyball game to get this shot

Oh, I'm a bit jealous... it's been my dream to shoot a butterfly/bee in midair with perfect sharpness wide open at 1:1-1:2 magnification. A beach ball would definitely suffice as well.

Thought the narrow strip of light reaching the plant was pretty neat, so I took a quick pic.
