@Eurostar, That is an awesome shot of the deer.

@Lance. That dog is stunning, remember seeing in Pbase lens collection, well done!

My FA*24/2 which prompted me to start this thread was recently sold to a forum member after I had purchased the FA31. But, it's been replaced by the FA*28-70/2.8, and I hope to contribute some from that lens soon. Once you experience an FA*, it's hard to go long without one

Peter, those are some incredible shots. Coming from you (owner of all the classic lenses in that focal length range, right?) it means a lot. As I already have the FA77, I've been resisting this lens, but your shots are not helping here...

I'll put this shot taken with the FA*28-70 here. Taken at a local park (Cox arboretum to test the lens)

100% CROP OF THE IMAGE ABOVE (Both images post processed in LR and CS2)

FA*300mm

Thought I would bump it up with a few from my only FA* lens All shot with K100D Super. The moon shot is a 100% crop and was taken during the day.

Thanks for looking

Very nice images, did you selectively sharpen that airplane in the air in that second shot, or did it pop like that without it? Amazing rendering. Enjoyed the dragonfly very much as well.

Beautiful shots; what range of apertures are you shooting at for the series?

Today I've shot almost exclusively with my newly acquired FA* 85 F1.4. I must say that it really lives up to its legendary status...

Thanks Can't say anything bad about the lens. On the second shot I didn't selectively sharpen(haven't learned that one yet), but did crop some if I remember correctly. It was pretty warm that day and I think the airplane on the ground was a little blurred by the heat coming off of the taxi way, could be why the one landing "pops".

Nice thread by the way.

Sorry, I've neglected this topic completely! But in this series I usually had the lens at f/2-2.8. But the EXIF is intact in the pictures so you can see for yourself.

Also ontopic: I appear to have just won this on eBay!

Asahiflex, you are going to LOVE the FA*28-70/2.8, looking forward to some shots with it.

Seriously man! how many lenses have you bought in the last three months,....it looks like you are going from MF lenses to legendary AF lenses. I got my first Pentax MF lens, the A 50/1.7 this wknd., wow! what a lens...I am absolutley loving it. I think I might go the other way and amass some MF lenses.

Interesting moves, eh? I came to the conclusion that I had all MF lenses I wanted. I've made a selection of my best MF lenses and I will keep those of course. But the ones I hardly used went on sale on eBay. It seems that you indeed went the other way around

No mistake - great choice!

Some of mine, although a-typical perhaps:

This one was my last acceptance in PPG

Heavy lens but worthwhile, I believe.

The FA* 80-200 is indeed a damn good lens! Here are my first humble tries:

And a 100% crop of the previous picture to prove that the sharpness is outstanding, even at the tele end.
