Hi all,
Just got my Raynox DCR-150 in the mail yesterday and got a chance to play around with it today. Just thought I would post some quick test shots, to show how it affects the magnification on my Tamron 70-300mm lens.
The following pics are of a drop of water and a measuring mark on the outside of a glass. They were taken hand held.
First pic is the standard 300mm 1:2 macro shot (max magnification of the lens) without the Raynox attached.
Second pic is at 70mm in 'normal' mode with the Raynox 150.
Thirst pic is at 135mm in 'normal' mode with the Raynox 150.
Fourth pic is at 300mm in 'normal' mode with the Raynox 150.
Last pic is at 300mm in 'macro' mode with the Raynox 150. (maximum magnification).
All were taken with the flash and as you can see, the length of the lens at 300mm is starting to block out the light from the flash on the last two pics.
Photos were taken with my Hoya UV filter still attached.
I am really liking the Raynox 150 for it's convenience as it's nice and small to pack along. As a lot of others have mentioned in other threads, this $50 purchase is well worth it and gives you a quick and easy way into the world of 1:1 or better maco photography with very little reduction in image quality!
