Inexpensive AF telephoto club ($200 for 200mm)

This is a club for those really inexpensive AF telephotos. The DA55-300 which is the default choice for a decently priced telephoto costs ~ US $300 here. So, these lenses have to be much less than that.

I understand that the prices vary a lot around the world, but I am hoping to see AF lenses that can be had for $200US or less on ebay which are 200mm and longer (so 200mm lenses are allowed as well) in this club.

Mention the lens and the price paid.

Lens design: (Source: http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/lenses/zooms/long/FA80-320f4.5-5.6.html)

I'll start off with my recently acquired Pentax FA 80-320mm f4/5-5/6. Paid $75 including shipping.

320mm, f8, iso400, 1/320

280mm, f8, iso 800, 1/80)

200mm, f8, iso400, 1/250

Those are lovely pcrfan, great colors and contrast. I was looking for that lens but ended up with an FA-J 75-300 for $110. Light, fairly compact - just what I was looking for. Great for a nature walk, paired with a DA35.

Seems like the DA50-200 would qualify, then, so:

Here's one from the Sigma 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7, f8 at 300mm. I think I paid $40 for it, not too shabby!

EDIT: f/8, not f/6.7

These Pentax lenses for some reason seems to have great color, and your shot shows that as well. My lens lacks contrast and that can easily be added in PP like I have.

LOL, thanks...they were all PP'd, but I am quite happy with the lens, but wouldn't need it as I have the sigma 100-300 F4 which is absolutely phenomenal. But, I am keeping it as a low weight option. I'll take it when I leave the 100-300 behind.

Marc, forgot the DA 50-200 when I started the club, as I know that is a fine performer as your images show. It is only fair to include that as well.

Come'on...I am itching to see more. Where are those lovely F 70-210 shots (I've seen this render 3-D), and all the nice 70-300ish tamron, sigma and other zooms.........there is tons of lenses out there in this category, and I am convinced they are capable of some astonishing shots......

You are absolutely right, sorry about that!
The lens performs fairly well, although the contrast is quite low at 300mm. It needs a bit of PP to work.
Here's another one from the lens:

And a Sigma 28-200 I bought for I believe $60 from a member here.

Sorry, I dont know what's wrong with me lately.. I deleted it because I didn't pay attention very well to the title of this thread. This thread is for AF lens and my lens is manual. I did same mistake in the marketsale just couple hours ago >.<

I have made a new thread though, because I need some opinions about that lens. Feel free to check the thread here. Thanks
