Sears 135mm 2.8 lens

I took a chance on this lens hoping that it would be a good MF oldies prime. Boy, was I surprised!

The only sharpening was because I resized it. No contrast was added.

Anybody else have this lens? The Sears lens a a re-badging from where... Pentax? Cosina?

I have a Bushnell 200mm ƒ2.8 that performs pretty similarly... I wonder if they were both rebadges from the same manufacturer?

The Bushnell was made in Japan. Where was your Sears made?

I had one, great lens. Sharp even wide open. Does yours have the built in hood?

I have one. I love it, it is sharp, fast, awesome. It has a built-in sliding hood. Made in Korea, too... don't know who manufactures it.

I bought it used, and now the blades are stuck at f2.8...

It's funny, I passed up a sears K mount 135 F2.8 for $10 only because I already had a SMC 135 F2.5.

Maybe I should have picked it up just to try?

I received a Praktica M42 mount 135mm 2.8 lens made in Korea for Christmas.

I can find virtually nothing on my lens, except that Korean made lenses were made by Samyang, so I'd imagine that is the manufacturer for this Sears lens as well.

I haven't downloaded any of the photos I've taken with mine yet, but they look good on the camera's screen. Although I know from experience how deceiving that can sometimes be, lol.

Enjoy your lens!

Lots of CA under f/8...just found this out the other day. At least at f/8-11, they are better controlled.

I should say that's in the most harsh light...shooting at birds in the trees, for example.

See this shot at f/4...no CA, really:

f/uhhhhhhhhhh...8, I think

Edit: Seems like the first pic isn't showing up for some reason...
