The 15mm Limited controls my mind - club

.

Well.....

I'm sure you know how it is. You already have a wonderful lens that covers
an approximate FL you need perfectly. It performs as well or even better
than you hoped it would before you purchased it.

But, it seems, with LBA... once you covet a lens, that desire just lays in wait
for a weak moment.

The whole reason I got the 16-45 was so I could finally banish the thought of
the DA 15ltd from my mind forever. You can see how well that worked out.

But, really, I'm a Pentaxian, at least partially, and I'm here to shoot the M's, K's,
Takumars, and Limiteds. Right? That's enough justification, right?

By the way, have you seen this jewel in person? 15mm of tiny optical joy.
This goes on your camera and your creativity goes back up like a healthy white
count.

It's still freezing here, and will be for at least a week. Hopefully I'll be able to
go out on walkabout sometime soon with my new wide.

(thx to Marc and everyone else who's been showing images from this lens lately.
I hope you're proud of yourselves.)

And regarding the 16-45 - I think I'll keep it, at least I hope I find an excuse to.
It truly is a boatload of IQ in a small, inexpensive zoom.

First snaps from the 15:

Here's the center sharpness wide-open:

The only reason I don't own this lens already is because I told myself I need the 10-14mm in my UWA zoom.

I'm still not sure if I've convinced myself yet

This lens has a tendency to get stuck on my K-7. Not as bad as a Ricoh-P lens, but almost. It is just soo good!
Took a look at my focal length statistics in ligthroom a week ago and realised that it is by far my favo lens since I got it.

Wonder how long I can hold out before getting the 21ltd...

Like the glass-and-shadow shot.

Used one for a couple of days, thought about it ever since. And I'm getting mine next week (one of my three new lenses for the new year)

Wow! The sharpness is incredible. I agree that the 12-24mm is as sharp, but you don't get it in a tiny, limited package.

That is one hellava display of centre sharpness .... "...bottles and nipples..."

But seriously, it's a darn fine specimen of a lens there.

Both you and Frank(as usual) are making me envious!

I have the 12-24 and 16-50. So what do I need the 15 for? Do I have to have a need? Heck no! I wanted that marvelous little aluminum and glass jewel. I love the feel of the DA Ltds. And the DA 15 and 35 Ltds, M 50, and A 24 weigh a lot less than and are a lot smaller than the other two. Can we say LBA?

Excellent shots...this gem should be in my hands in a couple of weeks. I also have the sigma 10-20 and the DA21, but I couldn't resist this wonder any more........
