Can someone who has used this lens show me some shots from it? Looked in the lens review database and only saw 1 photo and it was pretty small.

wow...and to think I've already looked at that thread....I'm so dumb! I guess the general consensus is that it's a pretty good lens. I may purchase this at the end of the week

IMHO it's a pretty damn good lens. It's not for situations where you want rectilinear images. It's a cropped fisheye; it distorts like a fisheye. But it's crisp, and it's one of the 3 or 4 lenses I carry almost always.

It's actually the reason I married Pentax in the first place. I wanted to do fisheye; nobody else had an equivalent I could afford; and the K20D body got great ratings. So here we are. (My other first lenses were the FA50/1.4 and DA18-250.)

The thing I like most about the fisheye is the unique look it gives to photos...definitely adds character to just about anything.

A bit late now, but in the lens database, my review (2nd from the top) has 4 or 5 images.

Daacons' thread is awesome, though.

I was lucky enough to get it for $320 new, using the $100 rebate Pentax had at the time.

Yes, it is. However, heavy CA is typical. But if you have the K7, the auto CA correction takes car of that and is a blessing, hence minimal PP required, if at all.

Its easily my favourite lens and if used right can achieve some excellent results.

It can be used for everyday, its excellent in nightclub and event photography to especially in really crowded spaces. Other than cropping and the usual PP I did not use any sort of geometry or distortion correction. The trick with this lens is to just compose the shot right.

A good source for "show me photos with X or Y lens" is PixelPeeper. You enter the lens, any limiting specific parameters you want to see (only one focal length or only one aperture setting for example) and then it pulls a search from a bunch of different photo sites. You can see the specs on the lens, the camera and look at both thumbnail and 100% versions of each photo.

Here's the search results for the 10-17 (which I'm also looking at - trying to decide between it and the DA 15...impossible :P) PixelPeeper DA 10-17 lens results

Look at the EXIF data.

I was trying to shoot lighting, used the camera on manual and long exposure, kept firing till I got a good shot

chromatic aberration? The K-x has that feature also

As well as distortion correction...although I've never used it.
