[SOLD] IR Only K100D - w/ 720nm IR Filter

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
IR Only K100D - w/ 720nm IR Filter Built-in

Item Description
Hi All,

My buddy friend in Beijing China has converted quite a number of Pentax dSLR cameras into IR only ones, and sold several here at the forum. He sent several IR only K100D cameras to me to help for the sale due to the Beijing Olympic Game 2008 (no electronic items can be sent by air inside or out of China right now).

All cameras are in mint condition. They are IR only cameras, which means you can only take IR photos w/ them. I myself have tested all of them, and have adjusted AF for the kit lens (DA 18-55) to take sharp photos w/ AF. Of course you can do AF adjustment by yourself if you know how. Because the new thin (1mm thick) 720nm IR filters are used in these cameras, the amount of AF adjustment needed has been reduced from previous 600 to 200 or even less if you are using prime lenses. I tested DA 21 and M20/4, no AF adjustment is needed.

As to how the conversion is done, and the normal cost about the conversion, you can check it out here at maxmax:
IR Conversions

Maxmax charges $450 plus return shipping for the service alone, and you need to send your own camera over for the conversion.

My friend is asking for $550 only, this includes an IR only K100D camera and EMS shipping fee as well. EMS would only take 3 to 5 working days to reach anywhere around the world.

Payment by paypal only, and paypal fee is also included.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Thanks and cheers!

Some shots by myself w/ 760nm filter installed:

Some IR photos taken by the current converted K100D w/ 720nm IR filter installed:

You can see the new 720nm IR filter still retain some colors which makes the results look more interesting than previous pure black and white ones

It's such a good deal, since a K100 body doesn't cost much less than the converted one...

But new tires > camera equipment.

Re: 100D IR

I can vouch for this conversion. I bought one a while back.

Focus is spot on. No dust on the sensor. A very professional conversion.

And as has been noted all for only a few bucks more than the camera body.

Thanks Ryan and Col for the support

And I also think the price is pretty reasonable, especially consider EMS shipping is included.

Had some IR fun today, took quite some IR photos w/ a modified K100D. W/ the DA21 mounted, I don't even need any AF adjustment:

100% crop on the eyes:

And use IR converted camera to take candid shots is so much easier now:

Of course we all like to take tree photos w/ IR:

And the result can be quite interesting too after some play w/ color ajustment:

Thanks. I have to say that IR converted camera is one of the coolest photo gadget. It's so much fun to have one in hand especially under harsh sunny daylight
