This is an excellent condition Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar 55mm f1.8 M42 screw mount.

This Takumar has the super smooth buttery feel focus ring that Pentax Super-Taks are famous for. No other lens feels quite like it. The rendering of this lens somehow feels different (in a 3d sort of way) than other 50's I've tried (and I have tried almost all of them). The lens is super compact, it almost seems miniscule mounted on a K10.

This sample is in excellent condition. A little bit of wear on the barrel. Glass is perfect, no blemishes, scratches, fungus or yellowing. (The Super-Taks have a gold color lens coating). Aperture ring clicks solidly. No oil on the blades.

One great benefit of using M42 lenses is that you can use them on Aperature priority because you can put them on manual mode and control the diaphram opening without using the "green button" to stop down. Makes it very easy to use. All you need is a Pentax M42-K adapter and those are easily obtainable on ebay.

Includes original metal Pentax Front Cap and Generic Rear Cap.
