[SOLD] K10D, Sig 17-70,FA35,FA50,DA50-200,Zenitar

I have a Pentax K10D in good condition, with five lenses for sale:

Sigma 17-70/2.8-4
Pentax FA 35/2
Pentax FA 50/1.4
Pentax DA 50-200
Zenitar 16mm fisheye

I have boxes for everything, and all lens elements except the Zenitar have been filter-protected from the moment of purchase. Also have an extra battery.

$1100 for everything, or we can negotiate for individual items.

He's not selling them individually, that would be 5x more schlepp, must be worth a discount to someone who may just be pressed for time!

I have a shelf full of lenses that I need to sell and I just don't get around to it, because all the photos and emails and listings and hassles with uninformed or picky buyers makes it feel like too much of a hassle sometimes. I'll get around to it, eventually, but his pricing might be taking that "hassle factor" into account.

So to say TGTB comes across as maybe a bit harsh on a new member, because it implies disbelief or mistrust, or am I not getting your intention? Anyway, forums are for good deals, so maybe this is one.

There has been several new members in September that have posted either outrageous prices or to good to be true prices or never bothered getting back to people that were interested or listed a link to fleabay. I'm guessing that's what precipitated his post.

It's not "too good to be true", unless you'd like to believe it to be so. It's just that I don't have the time these days (a toddler and a very busy job) to eke the most out of everything I'm selling. I've been on DPReview.com for quite a long time (Posters Profile: Dolan Halbrook: Digital Photography Review), but selling things there is against the rules, so I decided to give this a try, which is why i'm new. My flickr account: Flickr: dolanh's Photostream will show you lots of stuff taken with the K10D and various lenses above, should you think they don't exist.

Anyways, at this point, I'm not sure I really even have time to be trying to sell my equipment, as I have a trip planned in a few weeks, and I'd kind of like to keep it around for that (which is why I've been particularly hesitant to part with the 17-70 without the body). With that in mind, thanks for all the PMs, but I'm going to wait until the trip is done and repost this then, if anyone is still interested.

Thanks for your time, sorry for the hassle.

I think that it would be good to remember the general rules for conduct in the Marketplace.
  • Don't disparage the prices
  • Don't disparage the goods

Let the market decide whether the pricing is right.

Having said that, I have on one or two occasions PM'ed a user to suggest that they would get a better response if they were priced a little lower than full retail. But, always in the form of a PM.

To the OP...You will find that the users on this forum are VERY savvy regarding price and value of equipment. If someone with 400+ posts is a little skeptical of your offering...well, what can I say.

'Nuff said...

Steve

BTW...I don't think your price is that far out of line...depending on the condition of the stuff...

did you decide on the trip between "Yesterday 07:10 PM" and "Today 12:06 AM" ? or you were just testing the market .

Thanks for the post. I've been buying and selling stuff online since people were doing it on the usenet, so I can understand people's hesitancy when someone creates a brand new user, drops in, and presents a deal that seems too good to be true.

Fact is, I tend to sell most things via Craigslist, so I can actually do it first hand. That said, the market here (Portland, OR) is much smaller than the SF Bay Area (where I used to live), so doing so is not nearly as easy as it used to be. Thus I have to look at selling to folks outside my target market. I don't like the added risk, but this seems like a great place to find people who would be interested specifically in what I'm selling.

I can see how it would come off that way

No, we're having our windows redone and I realized it's coming up in two weeks. Need to be out of the house for a few days, so we're planning on taking a trip up towards Vancouver. Given the fall colors, I think it's worth taking my DSLR.

Admittedly it's poor planning on my part to post this. What it comes down to is I'd rather give myself more time to get everything ready to sell (get the boxes together, and put everything back in its original packaging, potentially mailing stuff off if I sell it individually), and to buy replacement equipment. When your time is at a premium you tend to do what you can, but you'll see on my Flickr account I'm about a month behind...

All in all, I thought my prices weren't terribly out of line. My original price was $1200 for everything, but I dropped it by $100 to try to sell everything at once fairly quickly. If someone wants to pay me more, I won't complain. I took the current B&H price of each item except the body and the zenitar, and took roughly 2/3 of that as the sale price. That said, I appreciate another poster providing price estimates of everything. As I said, I'll repost this towards the end of the month, when i'm back from the trip and have a bit of time to get more prepared. Sorry for the confusion.
