[SOLD] Spiratone 20mm f2.8 Prime Lens

For Sale, one Spiratone Multi-Coated 20mm f2.8 Prime Lens in Good Condition.

Glass is clear, no fungus. Aperature blades are snappy. Minimal wear. It does have a few micro-scratches on the front element and a small ding on the filter ring which needs to be pressed out before mounting any filters. Did not see any degradation in picture quality. See pictures below:

As you can see the scratches are invisible from the pictures and the effect on picture quality is negligible. It is an extremely compact lens, about the same size as a standard 50mm lens which is very unusual for a full frame Super Wide Angle.

Price is $75+shipping.

Shipping is via USPS priority mail insured, International buyers are welcome:

in US: $7
to Canada: $18
International: $25

I have many positive reviews on this site. Reference available upon request. Payment via paypal.

I also have another lens and some filters for sale at the moment. If you buy filters with the lens, the shipping on the filters are free. If you buy another lens, we can combine ship for a shipping discount.

Huge Number of Filters including Achromatic Close-up!

Pentax DA 14mm f2.8

Item Still available. Price has been reduced to just $75+shipping. It's a very nice compact lens and not commonly available.

Youngster,
what lens did you use when taking the pictures?

I just got Mir 20mm, so I guess you cannot have more than one 20mm glass, can u?

This is quite a good lens to have for 20mm f/2.8. It is fast and I use it quite often wide open in f/2.8. I have a blog post
where I document my liking for the lens. I sold my copy to Platinum when I replaced my Spriatone with Pentax DA 21mm f/3.2.
In hindsight, I should have kept it so as to complement the DA 21mm for the missing f/2.8 aperture for indoor wide angle shots.

My report and test photos in:

The Spiratone is also a full-frame lens, which the DA 21 isn't.

Considering that you'd pay almost $400 for the SMC-A 20mm f/2.8 (if you can find one), the Spiratone seems like a great compromise.

Lens is still available

To answer people's questions:

Yes, this lens is still available.

I don't remember which lens I used, looking at the pictures, it seems likely that I used my Pentax DFA 50mm which I frequently use on product shots.

Some people have mentioned the picture links are too big. I apologize for that, I'm sometimes lazy and just link directly to photobucket. I'll minimize that in the future.

Thanks for your interest.

when and if the Aussie dollar gets stronger, I'll probably buy this lens if it's still available.

That might happen tomorrow if a certain person wins the election...
