[SOLD] Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:3.5/135

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:3.5/135

Asking Price
$94.00 USD Price Reduced $60.00 USD

Item Description
I am offering a Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:3.5/135 serial# 5145370.

this lens is truly in excellent condition, with only a few small brass spots here and there from use (not my own doing) most notably on the auto/manual switch. nothing to frown at however as they are all very unnoticeable, unless you are looking. the focus ring is just as you would expect from a Takumar, very well dampened and smooth as butter. both front and rear elements are pristine. no scratches, chips, hazing, fungus, or fog. I haven't looked to hard but I would imagine there are a negligible amount of dust particles on the inside of the lens. (this is something one should expect on an older lens). The lens has original metal 'slip on' Asahi pentax front cap and original Takumar plastic screw on rear cap. both of which are in excellent condition. also included is the original Takumar 1:3.5 135mm 1:4 150mm 1:5.6 200mm metal screw on lens hood. the hood is a little worse for wear and has done its job very well. brassing on the outer lip, brassing on the sides as well as a few small nicks and dings. screws on perfectly, only cosmetic. (again not my doing). also included is the original Takumar 3.5/135 leather lens hard case. this is real leather with a lovely green felt liner. the case is in excellent cosmetic condition and functions perfectly. does not have original case strap. lens, caps, case and hood of course all made in Japan.

I haven't used this lens much but have not gotten around to selling it (I don't buy lenses to try and always have a hard time letting go.) lens has been stored in its case with a silica gel packet for extra protection. This was my first manual lens as well as my first Takumar.

I know you see these lenses often and they tend to go for peanuts but this example is an S-M-C and has much better flare control, and contrast as well as more vibrant color rendition than the often sold Super-Takumar version.

I don't have much feedback here or at ebay but you can see from what I have that I am a trusted seller and buyer as well as being a (as far as I know) well known and trusted member of the forum.

lens does not include an m42 adapter.

you can direct any inquires to me through private message or email. all (if any) inquires are responded to in the order I receive them.

I will post more detailed photos of the lens tomorrow when I have the time. however here is a photo of the actual lens being offered (I saved it from the original ebay ad.)

very first photo taken with the lens. ASA 200, 1/250 sec., EV +2, center Weighted, Av, f3.5 @ 135mm

as the sale titles states, this lens is a 135mm 3.5 prime lens, with m42 mount.

I think the writing on the lens hood throws people off.

Yes, I noticed the lens hood on the 135 I acquired last night is the same. They apparantly used the same lens hood for the different length telephoto primes back then.

Great lens, can't wait to get the adaptor and shoot with mine.

Does the hood fit in the case with the lens at the same time, one way or another?

The hoods on these lenses slip on backwards over the lens and the lens cap mounts to the threaded end of the hood. Very clever.

yes the hood will fit in the case turned upside down. you can either put the lens cap on and then the hood or put the lens cap on top of the hood. will fit either way.

here are some photos:

That looks gorgeous, if I didn't have one (just a super) I'd be all over it. Come on people!

thank you for the free bump, much appreciated. I hadn't anticipated it to sell quickly and I'm selling it at a bit of a loss but I don't use it much and would like to sell it to someone who will.
