Item Description
For sale is a Pentax-A 35-105mm f/3.5 constant zoom lens with macro function. I purchased this lens here on the forum several months ago and have enjoyed using it, but I'm downsizing my film kit to make room for some DA* zooms and primes. I'm not looking to make a profit on this one, just want to get out of it what I put in.

However, this lens does have some issues... hence the bargain price. The seller I bought it from does a good job of detailing them here. In addition to these, the lens also has a small cleaning mark on the front element coating, near the edge of the glass (see last pic below). I have not seen this mark affect photos in any way. In spite of these issues, this lens is a joy to use.

sample photo of same lens model

I purchased Ben's (this seller) K20D to take advantage of the K20D's brighter viewfinder when manual focusing, especially to make full use of this lens model. These are 2 of my first photos with the K20D. Only resized, no other PP.
ISO800, F5.6
I am very surprised at the saturation. Prior to this, I reset the camera to it's factory default settings.

For this price, one will get to own a good lens.

35-105/3.5 is one of the best lenses ever

Tried it recently on K20 and K-7 against bunch of other glass, the image quality is amazing. The build and the ease of use are superb, as expected.

I found one of these attached to a film camera some time ago. Big, heavy and beautiful! And extremely useful focal length. But I couldn't justify keeping such a nice piece of glass without using it enough so hopefully, the forum member who bought it from me is putting it to proper use.

In a non-scientific test of portraits using available light at f3.5-f5.6 at around 75mm focal, this lens came quite close to matching the sharpness and "pop" of an FA77 on a K20D.

I wonder if this was the lens that accidentally missed the A* badging?
