I can't see my RAW images in Pentax Photo Lab

I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I can't see my RAW images in Pentax Phot Lab. I can see them in Phot Browser. This is the first time I have tried RAW with my K10D. I have done a few random RAW photos with my K100d and had no problems opening them.

It says "Failed to display preview" when I try to open a file.

Any suggestions?

How are you accessing PPL? You should be in PPB, select a photo, and click the PPL icon. It should open right up.

Probably no help, but ...

This probably will be of no help, but it's worth a shot. The first time I tried working with .pef from the D10, I couldn't get them to show up in the Pentax Laboratory. I didn't realize both .pef and .jpg were showing up in the browser, and I had been clicking on the .jpg images! Duh!

When I do that, it still says "Failed to open preview"

Have you tried 'right click' on picture, then 'open with' Pentax photo browser?

I've gotten this error before, but never on all of my shots.

Sometimes, I've noticed that some of my PEF's were size 0. Empty files. These would get that error.

I never figured out why that happened, but I haven't seen it in a long time. I think it happened more with my K100D than with my K10D. Find the PEF's in explorer (assuming windows) and see what size the files are...

Craig. What version are you using? I ran into some "buggy" problems initially with my PEF files from K100D, updated to version 3.12 and no problems since. Ken.

Craig, just wondering, are you seeing all the windows OK (Preview, White Balance etc)?

Could it be that your photos are associated with another program (eg. iPhoto if you're using a Mac) and if you right click and choose Open with...Pentax Photo Browser I think it will work.
