Fonblanca, the spring that starts it all
Lens: DA 15 Ltd & DA 50-200 WR Camera: K7 Photo Location: Fonblanca, Pyrenees

Well, not ALL, but everything I've shown to you lately

Fonblanca is the spring that seems to emerge from the big rock in the first photo. And it actually springs from that rock, coming from an underground stream all the way from Monte Perdido, the tallest limestone peak in the whole range, at 3,355 meters (>11,000 feet), and third overall. Here, the stream that has formed the beautiful Añisclo canyon is born.

This is a wonderful place, where I bivyed after a full day's hike up the canyon, and before the steep scramble up the ravine to gain the heights of Ordesa. As always, I hope my images manage to convey some of the beauty of the place.

Really fine series of landscapes. Several have a mystical quality - an imagined rather than real place. Fin choice of perspectives and framing.

Thank you Dave. I long to go back. Actually, I'm planning to go there again in winter, I think it must be breathtaking!

To tell you the truth, I had a hard time believing what I was seeing, even though I was there. I had hiked very close by before, but I had missed this place. It is truly magical.

Also, thanks for your compliment.

Thank you Joni. Having seen your own photographs, your opinion carries some weight

Regarding going there, I highly recommend it. You're not as far away as our American friends, and no one has ever regretted visiting the Pyrenees

Thank you Heinrich, I strive to share the beauty of these places which are not easily accessible. Of course it's not the same as being there but my goal is to bring the emotion that the mountains have made me feel.

Nice series. The third shot is my favorite, because of the light hitting the mountain tops.

Thanks. The moment the walls lit with the rays of the setting sun was spectacular. I did what I could with the exposure, although I missed a stronger ND grad.
