Posted By: Tommot1965, 01-09-2011, 05:32 AM

i spent a few hours at perth zoo today..gee those animals are very good at posing..ill go again.

I will post a link to the set once i work out how to use flicker

the K5 with the Sigma 70-200 worked a real treat..the siggy is soft wide open..so i set it to F 5.6 for most of the day..and ISO 400..at times I increased ISO, or opened up as needed

theres a Roo here for sparkle

Nice clear well focused shots. Think I need to pay another visit to the Perth Zoo.

Was there Dec. 2009. Consider putting some images up in the club thread for zoo pics:

just a thought as the three images you have posted are excellent. I had a shot at those penguins in the pool too -yours turned out way better. Very strong green tint from the water reflections...

Some gorgeous shots in that excellent set ... though I do see a problem with over exposure in quite a few. Favs in order : #1 Wild Dogs, #2 Tortoise (lovely DoF used here) and #3 Meercat - shame you didn't leave more room to the right - however I know how difficult that can be in zoos where you are trying to exclude some of the environment !

I love zoos for photo ops & the open spaces (especially living in this massive city) - I went to Shanghai Zoo (again - entry is only US$7) last Friday, just haven't had time to process the shots yet.
