Yeah, the 55-300 is a good piece of glass. Only downside so far for me has been it's focus hunting at the long end of the zoom. Sometimes it takes as long as 3 to 4 seconds to focus. The focus motor is noisy to and coupled with noisy shutter of K-x, they are a real noisy combo

I used to get instant attention from folks around whenever I was firing in hi-continuous shooting mode.
The Cheetah is my favorite too.
