Lens: Sigma 10-20mm / Tamron 70-200mm Camera: K-x Photo Location: Hampi

Some shots from my Hampi Trip. It's a world heritage site on the bank of Tungabhadra river with beautiful temples build between 1400-1600.

Just sharing a few picture to not overload the page. More pictures are here Hampi Trip | Facebook

Hope to receive some feedback and comments:

Very nice shots. Hampi is a wonderful slice of India. I felt like I was in a flinstones cartoon when I was there with all the monster orange boulders. Did you check out the pinhole camera effect where you see an inverted shadow projected on the wall of the large temple in your second to last picture?

When I was there (early 2000) the town was on strike because UNESCO wanted to close down the commercial businesses located on site and move them to the nearby town, so our guesthouse had to smuggle food to us on their roof (strike-breakers).

I was amazed by an Indian teenager that spent all day in her barren dirt floor hut washing laundry next to where I was staying. She always had the hugest smile and looked like she couldn't be happier with her lot in life.

Rural India was a real treat after braving some of the large population centres (Khajuraho and its 'sexy' temples also highly recommended). Nothing like watching the sun go down, nestled in the roots of a huge tree by the river sipping on a bhang lassi
