Young kids playing soccer
Lens: Sigma 70-200 F2.8 HSM II Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Eindhoven ISO: 400

Last weekend a couple of nephews were playing in a soccer tournament and their parents asked me to take some pictures. I think they will like these

1 - chase for the ball

2 - slipping through

3 - a goal in the making

4 - he's not to be stopped

5 - no fear

Hope you like them too.

Thnx Dave.
It's quite easy to shoot kids at these age during a sport and get pictures with a lot of emotion. They are so focussed on what they are doing and it's a fun to watch.

Thnx everybody.
It always amazes me the kids at this age never seem to run out of energy.
They play with all their heart so it's easy to capture emotions on their faces.

Shooting young kids soccer is great. It combines lots of emoting, drama and action. The younger grades play on smaller fields and tend not to spread out much (they're not playing positions yet) so it makes it much easier to shoot.

Yep, these youngsters are already disciplined enough to prevent the whole team showing up on on spot : around the ball. Since they still play on the small field (half of a full field) you don't need super tele lenses, a 70-200. will do nicely.
