Lens: DA 40mm/f2.8 Ltd. Camera: Pentax K-5 Silver Photo Location: Paris, France

So I went to Paris and I only took my DA 40mm/f2.8 Ltd. with me. I've seen various threads about wich lens to take on a holiday or citybreak, but I'm kinda lazy and don't want to carry all that stuff around. K-5 Silver with pancake on my sun-sniper.

It is a sad story, the petshops near the river Seine. There has been no change in 25 years and cats and dogs are still in their little boxes behind some plastic door.

Walking around and made widescreen pictures (to fit my computerscreen and put them into my routinechange of backgrounds). Pretty anoying is that the pictures coming from K-5 are just not 16:9, but turn out as 2560x1446, wich is just a little big.

After a talk to another photographer in the evenening I changed my settings to his style (and he planned on doing otherwise). So inspiring to look at pictures and talk about them wile drinking beer.

The set's are separated because I did a bunch of them at the same time in PSE7, wide and portrait separated.

Those are very nice! Understated, iconic without being cliches. Just very nice.

For a part this is a choice. On saturday I exposed -o,3 EV and on sunday +1EV (for wich #49 is the present of good exposure). I corrected the exposure for the weddingpicture since a overexposed dress isn't pretty.

In my hostel I spend saturday evening talking to a Belgium traveling photographer (Canon) and we where looking at each others pictures and talked about working methods. So switched for a day to his view. It is nice, but it is not going to be my woking way. With overexposing you bring the attention to the other parts in the picture, but then I should also do some postprocessing in making the blacks a little deeper to make them stand out.

And thanks for the messages and watching Newport and Dave.

Well done, I realy like the series. Haven't been to Paris since 1988. Would love to go back for a couple of weeks. Great puppy shots, and they certainly aren't cheap!!
