Stefan, nice series and great colors captured here. I like the shot of the whirlwind you caught. Bob

Impressive shots (the stairway is very cool)! Another lens to add to the wish-list...is this a MF lens?

edit - did some googling and see that it is!

Yes, it's MF, but I find it very easy to operate.

Great pics! At over $130 less than the Pentax 15mm, I might be able to get a nice wide prime (and a K-5 (if they go on discount again))
My main worry is that with aging eyes, I find auto focus doing a better job than I can these days. The dof looks incredible on your shots though, do you think I could get by with manual focus?

Most of the time I don't even need to look through the viewfinder to focus. Given that the lens is so wide, DOF is huge anyway. My advice is to take a bit of time to study the relation between aperture and DOF @15mm (here, for instance: Online Depth of Field Calculator) in order to avoid the need to resort to your eyes. For close-up shots you will need to use the viewfinder, though.

Thank you for the info! I will be ordering one! Not being able to have a polarizer is a bit of a concern, but for the speed and price I can deal with that.
