Early Robin, a Deer and a Crazy Squirrel
Lens: f*300/4.5 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Ottawa, Canada Aperture: F4.5
Posted By: photocanadian, 02-04-2012, 03:27 AM

Went on a photowalk last week to look for deer. I was surprised to find the Robins so early, feeding on frozen berries. Couldn't help it not to take some pictures.
I was towing my two lovely kids in a sleigh (entire 5km or so ;-) scaring most of the wildlife around, but still managed to get a few interesting shots.

The squirrel almost held us up for ransom - a mean looking little fella. Met a nice fellow photog along the way as well, as well as a handsome eight-point buck that was jealously watching his lady getting fed.

Gotta bring some carrots next time.

Thanks for looking.

Love the first and third shots of the robin feeding on the frozen berries. Lovely series all around. Thanks for sharing.

Whoa, that's one sinister looking squirrel. Reminds me of Jack Nicholson

Glad you're enjoying these - thanks for the kind words.

My daughter is indeed the one feeding the birds - my younger son tried and failed many times. She's the bird wisperer in the family.

This place is actually a regional preservation area, so the wildlife is extra friendly for a reason

EDIT: Jack Nicholson indeed ... haha

Very nice work.
But isn't "crazy squirrel" redundant?
