The Return: Peregrine Falcons edition 2012
Lens: DA*300/4 Camera: K5 Photo Location: Cacouna, Québec
Posted By: jpzk, 07-18-2012, 08:09 PM

Here are a couple of recently taken photos of my "favorite" birds of prey, for the third year in a row. (They have been around for at least 6 years now).
Please note that all of them were cropped to a maximum of 50% and some PP was needed to adjust for backlighting in most cases.
Also, there are a few more at my Flickr account: Peregrine Falcons 2012 Series - a set on Flickr so you are welcome to browse.

This is where the youngs "end up" with the parents year after year while they learn the hunting methods. Not so "natural" being on a wire but that is what they do!

And this one is the male parent: a bit smaller than its female counterpart, but very agressive:

Thanks to all of you for the positive comments.
lLet's just hope that they will keep returning in spite of the ever increasing industrialization of the area where they nest ...

Fantastic shots! Aren't they beautiful birds too!
The foxes are welcome, but Otis draws the line on Falcons around here!

Regards!

Thanks Rupert!

I suppose Otis can outrun a fox for a short distance and go hide in a tree but I sure wouldn't like to see the poor bugger being spotted my Mr or Mrs Falcon!

Cheers!
