this one taken yesterday, March10,2013. It was the first 5-10 minute after we got hit by his yellow haze. In where I was, the visibility dropped dramatically in less than 5 minutes. the image looks as close to what I saw with my own eyes as possible. that was 1:15 PM.

And so, the soils of China are blown to Japan. It's a good demonstration of how there needs to be better care taken of vegetation cover in China! It reminds me of the dust storms we've had in Australia - I've seen similar scenes in Brisbane when winds carried desert soil to the city. Thanks for posting and I hope it clears soon - although the particulate pollution reaching Japan from China is a bigger concern.

Will we never learn?
As an American I have another reminder...

...Great Plains of North American March 1936

As far as I know, the yellow dust storms in Japan are pretty much an annual thing - the PM 2.5 pollution joining it is a somewhat recent phenomenon.

beside PM2.5, we get radiation from Fukushima both air and sea. I stop eating Japanese seafood since the incident. It more expensive than import seafood anyway! should I stop eat pacific seafood all togehter? Paranoia? a happy life in Japan

Sad, but at least there's lots of great food other than seafood in Japan. I'd feel happier if they'd get on with removing the spent fuel from that damaged pool. They're still talking November.
