3 PM today, found myself driving up the hill into Torrey Pines State Park, high above the state beach. If you park about halfway up the hill, you can walk the nearby Guy Fleming North Trail, an easy hike through the scrub oaks to a beautiful overlook on the edge of the cliff above the ocean. Used a Pentax-A 28mm f/2.8 left on infinity, 1/400 at f/5.6, TAv ISO 100, didn't change much. This is my neo-Kodak Brownie setting... keeps everything sharp from the horizon to about 25' away. When you compose the picture, you can figure on cropping out any unsharp foreground stuff later.

Driving out, a crow. A crow by the beach. This is ecologically significant. We have had an explosion of crows here in SoCal lately, obviously enough to start displacing the beach seagulls. Big change! The seagulls are stupid, mean, and nasty... and the crows are smart, mean and nasty. Evolution!

Looks to be a beautiful state park. Missed it on our visits to California. Have to put it on our bucket list (which is so long now we will never die.)
