"Noctilux" Photos
Posted By: Adam, 02-03-2007, 11:16 PM

I took some snapshots with my A 50mm/1.2 yesterday- I'd just like to share a couple. They're both unedited

First shot: ISO 800, F1.2, 1/125s
Second shot: ISO 800, F1.2, 1/45s

Wow, I love the first shot. It carries a sentiment there. The bokeh is smooth with that interesting creamy spread of soft light.

I was really after this lens but other pursuit stopped me from chasing this one. Pity I could not check how sharp it is wide open since the shots were taken in the night time.

Thanks for sharing

Great Lens!

Congratulations on my favorite 50! Not quite f/1 Noctilux range, but it'll do.

I posted a full-size sample of this lens wide open on my K10:
WARNING - Large File! (50/1.2 wide open photo)

I can't get enough of it. If I'm heading into low light, this lens is always in the bag.

Sean & Adam.
That 50 is excellent. Wide open it is amazing You even caught the spiderwebs on the head to the stalk. In Adams shots the way this lens plays with the light is just beautiful. I would say since there are so few around they will be very pricey when you do find them. I would never give up that little gem.

Adam we need to see a shot of all your glass and equipment. You have a great collection brewing. Nice shots.

I'm actually working on setting that up, so expect something within a few weeks

Thanks for the great comments! These were just snapshots, though, and I know that the lens can do much better, especially on a tripod

The first - successful hit! But a composition not on 100 %...

The best regards!

There is something about photo number 1 that I like. #2 is a great shot too!
