DA50-200 wide open
Posted By: StevenVH, 01-04-2009, 09:53 AM

I haven't really done any critical testing with this lens as I am with the others, so I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I grabbed some dewy shots of the last leaf still hanging in my yard.
Shot at full zoom and f5.6 with strong side lighting and these are the scaled jpeg, with no other PP, ISO was 200 with -0.5 compensation and I've been tweaking the Image Tone settings.

My purpose was just to see how the lens performed, but now I really like both these images.
Here they are cropped and scaled with no other PP. I got this lens used from B&H for a little over $100! It has a few shortcomings, but looks like it'll do until I can get something better.

This lens has one of the best price / performance ratios of the lower cost glass for sure.
