Posted By: Igilligan, 02-10-2009, 11:00 PM

I took a bunch of snow sledding pics with my Da 50-200 although I can't find that post on here now... Ummh very strange.

Anyway while at the cabin with the three families, I got a few schnaportraits...

Still love this old russian ltd.

I guess this is where the Helios shines, or at least this is what people believe. I like the first two of this series best. Could you give some settings when you made these?

Nice Gus. I do love that lens. Ever since I tweaked it and you told me about the f/4 thing, I use it more and more.

Great shots--first one is best IMHO. Gus, keep this up and I may find my self searching EBay for one of these little gems.

They can be had quite cheaply. I got mine for $23 shipped from the UK about a week ago. Loving it so far, though my M42 adapter is still in the mail so I haven't gotten to used it on the K20 yet.

A good series. They all capture a mood or some kind of spontaneity. The fifth, though the child is looking at the camera, it still captures a curious innocence. The first looks great in BW. I know because I tried it!

Great series! I especially like the first one, so wonderful light! Both colour and B&W are great, but the warm orange sold the colour version to me!

The only thing I know about this lens is that you really know how to use it. These are wonderful, especially 1-3.

Wow, where did this one come from????

It was buried in the snow from last winter...

Legacyb4 --- I think the "F4" thing was that Mel had copy of the 44-4 or 6, one of those that does not have the A/M switch so it was only shooting wide open.

I had mentioned to do the modification to to the pin and that the lens would really sharpen up by F4

I think that is what is referred too... but it was at least 15 lenses ago
