Sunshine Coast meetup
Camera: K20D

The 8th of Dec meetup at Australia Zoo was enjoyable. It was the first time for my family and I to go there and my impression was that it is a hard-earned legacy Steve Irwin worked and fought for - and his family is continually working to keep the zoo alive and growing.

Meeting up with Grant (Mallee Boy), wife Anne (Mallee Girl) and Dan (dodsan) & family was great. But without further ado, here are some of the highlights from the zoo visit:

Crocodile hunter series:

And finally an attempt at a BIF shot:

Ash, this is a wonderful series!
I like the fourth one especially...
The texture in the proboscis (is that
really the word for the Elephant's
nose? How can one remember???)
and the OOF hand!

Thanks Rense.
It may be colloquial but I've always known it to be referred to as a snout.

Very nice set of images, looks like you guys had a great trip. I especially like the BIF; the color right under its beak looked kinda like a surprised mouth.

Some great captures, Ash. Seems like it was a wonderful outing. I'm especially fond of #2 from the first group, #2 from the second, and also #2 from the third. I see a pattern here...lucky #2, I guess!

Regards,
Nate

Nice series Ash, I'm jealous. would love to have been there. Grant and Anne are great people. Sounds like it would have been great fun. I hope this becomes an annual event, maybe I can make the next one.

Great series of image Ash - the turtle head and the elephant trunk have a sense of intimacy about them that draws me in. Loved 'em.

Looks like you had a great time!

The atmosphere of the first sunset captures that Sunshine coast feel brilliantly

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Thanks John. Yes, they are - and made special mention of you also.
Next time you're around and available we'll be sure to invite you along.

Thanks Chris. The mornings were very pleasant, and the coastal hinterlands boasts of one of the finest landscapes around, rich and fertile with beautiful rolling hills. It was a pleasure to holiday there.
