I was watching the squirrels play in my backyard this morning and I have a new bird feeder up and this little guy thought he'd get a snack. Unfortunately for him my new bird feeder is a squirrel-be-gone and holes close up when anything as heavy as a squirrel climbs on the perches.

I rather like the lichen and the good separation of the squirrel from the background. I think if you sharpened it a bit, it would be stronger.

JMR every time I try to sharpen a photo it ends up to be too much. Glad you liked the lichen and separation from background.

Try viewing at a 100%, sharpen until you see that it's gone too far and then back off a bit.
If you're using Photoshop, try Smart Sharpen.

You caught the squirrel in a nice pose.

Nice picture, I agree when his a bit more sharpened it's getting stronger.
If your using Photoshop you can also try Unsharp Mask, Amount 80%, Radius 1,5 pixels, Treshold 3 levels after that you must Fade Unsharp Mask, opacity: 100%, mode: luminosity. You can find Fade Unsharp Mask under "Edit".

Thanks for the compliment. I like getting bokeh in my photos and accomplish this 9 times out of 10. Course one has to be careful of the background colors also. Too bright and even bokeh does not look right.
