I LOVE it!!!!!!!!!! Beach, ocean, sunset, and HORSES!!!!!!!!! I think the fourth is the best and EXCELLENT; the first 2 look a bit over processed, sort of crunchy and with oversharpening halos. |

My first (that I can remember!) post that's not a response to someone else's fotografic art.
Thursday the 14th I had a serious cataract removed from my right (dominant} eye.. Because I had one removed from my left, nondominant eye several years ago, I had some idea what to expect in changes in brightness and color balance, but these current changes, perhaps because it's my dominant eye, are HUGE. One result of these changes is that all the pics I look at seem to be a big overbright and a bit cool in color balance. but I suppose I'll get used to that.
After getting tired (again!) of my too-small-body Sony FF camera, this time my 2nd a7R4, I ordered a couple weeks ago a Fuji GFX 100S system, mostly from B&H but also several Pertax lenses thru eBay. The (used) body and Ptx 150-300 lens are arriving Monday; I already have Fuji 32-64 plus 23 and 30 primes, and Pentax 55/2.8 plus the 150-300 and 45-85 zooms..
I'm 77 and a bit feeble and can't easily handle heavy lenses and cameras, so the '100S system will be used almost exclusively on a tripod, while my Fuji X-T4 system will be my walkabout/backup system.
We'll see how this goes; I'm sure looking forward to it! |

I just bought an easily used one on eBay for $282 (total) to use on my incoming Fuji GFX 100S. |

I expect that the reason they use 150s is that anything smaller is simply too small. It is a 15mm, full-frame lens.

Shot over my back fence in a development, hand-held, K-1. Shot raw, developed and adjusted in ACR. Probably f5.6. This is a good example of the Zeiss liveliness or 'pop'.
My technically oriented buddy installed this adapter and another on a 21/2.8 in less than an hour. Both adapters fit tightly with no play.

This one I really like; VERY well seen and shot.
I have my ZF.2 21/2.8 and 135/2 lenses* AND my Leitax adapters but have been too busy to install the adapters. Maybe tomorrow, since I've just made dates with my buddies for sunset and then nitetime shooting in and around Phoenix.
* which will make my collection a 21, 25, 35, 85, and 135. :) :) :)

D, how do you find the Samyang's overall image sharpness and attractiveness? I've used several different Canon TS lenses on Canon bodies and was very happy with them, and I've been tempted by the Samyang.

Certainly I will, Tas--I'm JUST that sort of gabby guy. :)
David Llado, 'Mr. Leitax', confirmed today that he'll be making my mounts early next week. I hope I see them NLT early the week of the 4th.

Nikon and Zeiss ZF lenses for Pentax cameras ... 67Euros (each) plus mailing. The instructions... Leitax Zeiss ZF2 to Pentax-K mount
...look easy enough to follow.
I just sent this via e-mail: "What information, if any, is transmitted to the camera? The camera still controls the aperture? I think the easier question is 'Does your adapter make the lens fully manual, or are the ZF.2 lenses still controlled electronically by the Pentax camera and focused manually?' Also, the TOTAL shipping cost via courier for TWO mount adapters would be 25 Euros? FWIW, I have ZF.2-mount lenses in 21/2.8 and 135/2." Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Oh yes, and I do NOT want to count the lenses I've bought since my February preorder! Here's my latest pair; these two arrived this week.
Sure hope 'Mr. Leitax' posts that mount-adapter soon. :hmm: If these two are successful, I'll have Z-series Zeisses in 21, 25, 35, 85, and 135mm.
The 85/1.4 is lighter than I thought it would be, while the 135/2 is heavier.
I'm waiting for the IRIX 15/2.4... Irix. Prepare for more |

I've had a K-1 since May 03 and a Pentax 15-30 (with Fotodiox WonderPana66 filter system) shortly after that.
I've shot it enough to know that it's a very good lens, to the point that its high performance surprised me.
But...I seem to be obsessed with Zeiss lenses and have accumulated four...
...and soon-to-be five or even six, of the ZKs or convertible ZF.2s.

I seem to be getting a tad irrational here*; I now have ZKs in 25, 28, 35, and 85mm...
...a ZF.2 21mm is on the way, and I've lined up a ZF.2 135/2. Sure hope the Leitax adapter proves to be real and effective! IF IF IF I buy a hi-quality 50mm/maybe-1.4, probably it'll be AF, so that leaves out ZKs or ZF.2s.
Anyone interested in a ZK 28/2 in excellent condition?
* But, then again, it's only money invested and not thrown away, and--lucky me--I've got the money.

He wrote: "I expect to post a web page for the new Leitax mount in 1-2 weeks.
Best regards; David www.leitax.com" That means that perhaps-all the Zeiss Z-series lenses available in Nikon ZF.2 mount will be convertible to K-mount. We'll have to wait to see what electronic information will be transmitted. FWIW, I'm up to four ZKs--25/2.8, 28/2, 35/2, and 85/1.4, and I hope to get a 21, converted or not. |
