Muted tones of a couple of fall warblers. They were feeding very actively, and caused me to wonder whether my DA* 300mm + TC would focus any faster with the K-new rather than the K-3.

Taken yesterday in horrible light... to get reasonable shutter speeds I had to shoot at silly high 8000 asa (sorry iso, showing my age again ) which explains the graininess. :) |

I don't do BIF and I'm humbled by much of what I see here on this thread, but the poor “Duchess” (Pentax-A* 300mm F4.0) don't get out much. ;)
Thought the light was to improve dramatically... but hope was short lived so still at 8000 iso. :(
What appears at first glance, to be a one bird fast flight sequence... was actually four birds in one shot, flying in different directions. :)
A potential air traffic control nightmare in the making and I'm also still undecided on the best presentation of this image... landscape or portrait. :o |

Got a shot of a Kingfisher feeding on some fish today. The DFA 150-450 seals held up..... amazingly strong glass used on the water tower. |

Not the greatest photos, but it's really nice to have these guys back in town.
I always look forward to the month of May in WA state.

Nice shots guys! Some test shots from the DA*300mm F4 @ f6.3 (K70 with the Kenko Pz-AF 1.4x). I'm still in the process on trying out more stopped down shots with this combination... |

Nice photos lately! I don't comment a lot, but always enjoy looking at them!
Did work a lot this week, and today I took a break and went out with my monster FA*250-600+HDTC+K-1
We are lucky to have a couple that nest in some islands near my home... but I did not knew their exact site until now.
And Today I was lucky to see them together...
Even if the HDTC is not FF, I had to crop a lot anyways (almost 1:1) and the resolution is still acceptable! Pygargues à tête blanche / Bald Eagles [Haliaeetus leucocephalus]
This is how the original RAW file looked like:
(Approx distance:150m / 500 ft)
Got a nice sunset too ! Always a pleasure to be out, you never know what could happen!
