Topsy, thanks for those photos....looks like a good set up.
My lens has cleaning marks on rear element but no fungus, should work ok I spose but it's just such a beast !
Got any photos taken with yours ?

S.W. Ireland doesn't have a 'local camera store'....nearest is 60 miles and it's rather basic.
At last photos of the adapter.....first photo shows hole I drilled before realising I didn't need to.
Second photo shows the recess thingy.
Main thing I learned was to line up the red dots and it works just fine.

Reason I haven't uploaded a photo is I'm trying to switch from PC to Mac, after re-installing the Mac....PC is not working well
and yes I'll add a photo of this Pentax K to M adapter as and when I can.

Just a follow up, it seems this adapter works very well actually....IF you get the red dots lined up.
So I tried the Meyer lens and just working out how to meter with it now.
The lens tripod mount seems to be larger than normal.

Audi, thanks for that tip. The adapter is quite deep so the tab you mentioned was not accessible.
Tried drilling the front face of the adapter with Dremel and 3.5mm bit, it's solid aluminium so not a great idea (used a sock in the mirror box and a vacuum to take away the metal dust so no problem there).
Eventually had success last night, I got it off the same way I got it on, with the lens attached. (Meyer Orestogon 300mm f/4)
Gave it a couple hard turns each way and it seemed to free itself. Lens mount wasn't damaged thankfully.
I won't be using this adapter again, and might re-sell the lens since it's enormous.
I'll post a photo of the adapter later, bit busy right now.

Well then I'll take a photo of it tomorrow.
There are two slots in the outer part of the adapter, the inner part just fits inside and held by grub screws.

No lens on it, just the adapter.
It's like the one in DC's photo above.
Found the lens retention spring and lifted it whilst jiggling the adapter, didn't work.
Tried heating it for more play, no joy there.
It's on MF already, tried that.
No repair shops in S.W. Ireland.
Yes I have a Dremel but don't want to go in with that yet.
There must be another plonker who's done this so I'll wait for advice.
The adapter is free but for the area near the release button.

Yes, that's right. I tried to wriggle it back and forth whilst pulling but no joy yet.
I won't go in with the vice grips just yet.
First time I even used the damned thing, camera is new so want to be careful.

Yes, I see what you mean about the notch and pin, it seems to be caught at only one point.
Since it's the wrong adapter I spose I'll try that next....prepare for surgery !

Thanks for the help, yes it looks like that T one, but says K to M on it....has no springs and doesn't 'lock' when turned clockwise.
Tried using the lens release button, no joy.
Will try the other tips.

Hi,
I see there's a massive thread on adapters but I don't know how to get this adapter off the camera, it's stuck.
It's a two part K to M42 adapter, 3 grub screws hold the inner part. I tried using a very thin piece of metal between the adapter and the mount but it still won't budge.....will I have to cut it off with a hacksaw ? ?
Any help please.....

Hi there,
I have a quite new memory card that's stopped working all of a sudden.
The message is : 'Card is not formatted', then when I try to format it says : 'Memory card error'.
It's a SanDisk Extreme Pro 64 GB I bought from Amazon....
Is this fixable ? :confused:

Main problem with the video I took is the sound quality, so a proper mic would be better....any ideas about which ones are good for live music ?
When exporting a 12 min video into 'med' quality...should it really take 40 mins ? !
Format best for web use ?

Hello,
After getting the basics of my new K3II and Lightroom sorted, what's the 'best' way of processing video
on my Mac mini with Lightroom ?
I don't want to clog the computer up with massive files and have two videos of 20 mins each...
Any basic tips ?

Thanks Boris, downloaded PhotoRec but Macmini wouldn't open it coz not from Apple.
Did manage to import some photos to Lr and trying it out now. :-)
The standalone version would be less hassle I spose.

Not sure what I did wrong tbh, Lr shows the 300 photos but when I click Develop it says it can't find them,
they are listed as 'missing photos'.
Steep learning curve for me it seems !

Downloaded free Lr then imported 300 photos from new card, removed card, formatted card...
Then Lr tells me the import didn't work....
Not good.

Thanks PDL, just reading about Capture One now, seems to be great but pricey and good for tethered stuff which doesn't interest me at the moment.
Lr will likely be far more than I'll need at present.
