It fits okay on the Z but Liveview is perhaps more useful as one can choose the area to be magnified and magnify well beyond 2x.....the D is a more suitable candidate, especially for macro.

Not strictly "Russian" but the later version (multi-coated) of the Carl Zeiss Jena 180mm f/2.8 Sonnar in Pentacon Six mount makes a very decent portrait lens and the Carl Zeiss Jena 120mm f/2.8 Biometar does a decent job too.

I've never had a 67 body but I do have (and use) seven 67 lenses on my 645Z.....manual focus aside, they're pretty seamless in operation.

I believe that part of the shutdown procedure involves a write cycle to any installed memory cards.....may be worth trying a different one or removing it/them.

I use CombineZP for macro stacks from my Canon bodies although I haven't yet tried it with 645Z files. As for a rail, I have a pair of RRS B-150's that are stable enough for the Z.

I've got a late model 55/4 that makes a noise when tipped......rather like an old pendulum clock. If the aperture lever is moved to the manual postion then the noise is far less obvious (although still there).
I use it via a Pentax adapter on a 645Z and it works just fine.

In my dealings with them I've not received anything other than prompt service and quality merchandise......nothing hinting of dubious practices or scams.
The website is Hartblei Super-Rotator Tilt Shift Professional Lenses & Adapter Rings and there are numerous adapters available together with their range of SuperRotator TS lenses. I have three of their P6-P645 adapters, the most recent was purchased in February this year, and they seem very well made especially when I compare them to an additional one that I have from a different manufacturer.

I feel that the diversity of requests will only succeed in making the potential market for any new lens appear less profitable. Fast primes and zooms will have a considerable developement cost which needs relatively high sales at a good margin to make it a worthwhile proposition so I'm proposing a reasonably cheap option (developement-wise).
Re-engineer the back end of the 67 45/4 and 55/4 to get a limited tilt (and/or shift) option that shouldn't need optics designing from the ground up.

Whilst I use Canon gear in favour of your Nikon gear, I suspect that we have the same or similar needs. If I want the photographic equivalent of "fast food" then it'll be Canon all day long. If, on the other hand, I fancy the photographic equivalent of a connoisseur restuarant meal then I'll pick up the Z every time.

Just a little update on this restriction/problem.......
I contacted Pentax France and questioned the validity of inhibiting the flash when using manual mode and the photographer is deciding the exposure based on aperture, shutter speed, iso and flash power and I've just received the following response; "We are going to forward your e-mail to the our team of developers and hope that the P67 lens restriction is removed in the new version of the firmware for 645Z camera."
Maybe this is simply a standard reply but for the time being I shall hold out some hope that a change might be forthcoming.

Thanks for taking the time to do the tests, Gerd.....it's very much appreciated.
I guess that I could try approaching Pentax but most things that I read seem to indicate that aftersales support is something that they don't take too seriously. I can use these lenses on my Canon bodies but often the signature rendering is very much diluted on the smaller format.
All the best

I got the chance to shoot an old A4-DN Skyraider so thought I'd try to give it that retro look from the its era (the 60's). Shot against an impending storm with a 67-M300/4 on a 645Z 1/320th @ f/8 Iso 100 |

I'm also a 58'er, Chris, and well remember the halycon days when every plane was a different shape. Living just a stone's throw from Manchester airport, it was my interest in aircraft that started my interest in photography....using an old Agfa Billy Record (which I still have)
I was very much on terra firma and the tree line is just out of shot. A tentative request to leave the spectator's enclosure, and position myself by the strip, was granted so long as I didn't get in the way......so refreshing these days.
1/1 is about my limit (without the benefit of image stabilsation) although a little slower would have improved the prop blurr. Today's often seen restrictions about display height and distance from the crowd line didn't seem to be enforced so things were much closer than you'd normally see.
Here's a couple more from the same shooting position.... ---------- Post added 07-26-16 at 12:53 AM ---------- As there seems to be a smattering of interest in old planes then here's a few more from last weekend......all with the 67 M300/4 on the 645Z
Broussard (1950's French design for ariel observation)
Pilatus P-3 (1950's Swiss designed trainer) highlighting the need for a slower shutter speed than that of which I was capable.

Don't you just love the sound of radial engines, Cuthbert. Your Chipmunk is actually a Yak-52 powered by a throaty radial whereas the Chipmunk had a Gypsy Major 8 (4 cylinder in-line) derived from the engine used to power the Tiger Moth.
Lovely shots though.

I'm starting to get to grips with the 645Z after 45 years of shooting 35mm (I started with a 120 Agfa folding camera). Any (including brutal) criticism welcome as I'm not yet sure myself where I'm heading.

For anybody interested....
This is a Dassault Mercure. In the early 70's, Dassault decided to try and grab some of Boeing's 737 market. With huge loans from the French government and a break even build of 200 aircraft, the total order book was 10 examples (all bought by Air Inter). The production line was dismantled in 1975 and the last aircraft withdrawn from service in 1995.

80mm v 90mm isn't a huge difference but the lens can have some bearing on this when working quite close to the subject. The focal lengths can reduce significantly when the subject isn't too far away..... for example, Canon's 100mm macro is only 78mm when used at its minimum focus distance whilst other lens designs don't show this large decrease.
Testing on a crop sensor (I assume APS-C in your case as I use a 645Z which is also a crop of sorts) might give some clues but certainly not the whole story. If you're aimaing for portraits and flowers for example, then the corners are of lesser consequence as they'll normally be in the region destined to be out of focus. If it's corner to corner sharpness for landscape shots then only the correct sensor size will give you the full appraisal.
It's also worth considering the way that different lenses render the image. Modern lenses can be quite clinical (in general) but things weren't so clear cut 30-50 years ago.....a Trioplan produces a very different image to a Petzval.
There's a site run by a knowledgeable guy in the UK which details and qualifies practically every P6 lens....well worrth a visit. The Pentacon Six System
