Yes, the images from the day before are in PEF and open fine. It appears to be the folder from that particular day. Like I say I can see them on the camera but the computer just says It cannot open due to the wrong type of file.

Hi All
Hopefully someone will be able to help. I have recently been on bit of a photography holiday. I have tried to up load my images from my pentax KS1. Most of the images are fine and upload into photoshop 10 as usual. Unfortunately there is on days worth of images which won't upload. I just get a error message saying cannot open ......... because it is the wrong type of file. I can see the images on the camera, but I cannot upload them. I shoot in RAW and the images are PEF for some reason. The are normally in DNG. Although I can open other PEF files it just seems to be this one days worth (the best day I had as it happens:() Anyone got any ideas? I really do not want to lose these images.

Hi All
My name is Tony. Just thought I would introduce myself. Been taking pictures for a while now and really enjoying it. Was bought a Pentax Kx as a present and have never looked back. I also have a KS1 and am hoping to upgrade later this year. Decided to stick with Pentax, really like both mine. Self taught and I am learning all the time. Probably need some input now from more advance photographer or maybe a course of some description.
