Does this mean that you know which AF selector is being used?

I take it that this cheap focus screen does not work with AF!
Which is the main difference with the expensive Kateye version

Not entirely a problem for me though ...just curious

Well I took a massive leap of faith and ditched Nikon after 23 years. My D2x lost heaps in value when i brought it cos Nikon 2 months later introduced the D2Xs 2 months after that the D2x was discontinued. all my lenses also had issues with dust in them

I wanted to invest in glass again as opposed to digital sensors.

Our agency also had a problem when powering in remote locations and issues with dust, and powering laptops to send the images over the net; so we looked at other alternatives and the K20D looked amazing in dust reduction and can edit in camera so did away with the laptop (I use a PDA with pocket phojo and the camera plugged in via the USB shows as a hard dive with the edited images on and sends via wireless or GPRS/3G) This is easy to power via a portable solar panel, the K20d batteries are small and light, so could be carried in or attach a Users own Grip and power it with AA batteries (and/or charge these with a solar panel)

Waterproofing was also a needed consideration and the DA* lenses won in this area as well, perhaps the only area I would not be happy in using the K20D would be sports (we are a documentary agency so it does not matter) but again in the days of film we had about the same frame rate with the Nikon F4s and the AF was slow.

The D2x was lSO noisey especially in winter when i had to up the ISO, not a problem with the K20D

I love the image quality as well and (if you know how in photoshop) should be able to make prints up to A0 in size (44 inches wide) which I am working on at the moment:)

I can also do 99% of my work with two lenses the 16-50 and 50-135 is about all I need and I have also bought the 18-250 for protests and as a back up to lenses being damaged which for its range is not bad quality and ideal for roaming the streets

Another thing I have noticed is the public ignore me with the Pentax as it is more discreet than the Nikon, people used to cross the roads or were very nervous with the Nikon out in view which may seem trivial but it makes hell of a diferance to your images if you are doing documentary work!
