I have completed my migration to Pentax. In the short period of time, with an extra $1000, the advise in this post and the vast information on this site, (as well as some luck and friends) I have amassed the following:

- SMC Pentax-DFA 100mm f/2.8 Macro WR
- SMC Pentax-DA AL 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
- SMC Pentax-FA 28-80mm f/3.5-4.7
- SMC Pentax-FA 28-90mm f/3.5-5.6
- SMC Pentax-FA 70-200mm f/4-5.6
- Pentax AF360FGZ Flash (Broken Door)

What I gave up:

I think I did fairly well. Now its time to take some shots.

These are a couple of my first ever Pentax & K-1 shots. Got the camera today, lots to learn.
The first 2 are right out of the camera with my New (used) D FA 100mm Macro WR. The last has some LR edits using an old Sigma 18-35mm.

Best light source for copying negatives and slides with a digital camera

If this helps any, here is what I am doing. Love the results:
Using a copier stand, macro lens, tablet with a light box app, custom built lego stand to hold an old darkroom negative carrier away from the light/pixels. That way the light is nicely dispersed.
