Thanks for that Chris.
I have just set up a darkroom after a break of 32 years, I had to sell all my equipment during the 1984-1985 miners strike and have been using a digital camera for the last few years but have always wanted to get back into real film photography.
Back then I used Kodak bromide paper therefore I have not used multigrade before and was unsure about the use of the red/orange Paterson safelight.
I have recently purchased the following from Ebay
Pentax Spotmatic 2 with 35mm, 55mm, 135mm and 300mm super takuma lenses
Pentax KX (black ) with 28mm, 50mm and 135mm SMC lenses ( fantastic camera and the one I use the most )
Yashica FR1 with 50mm and a 500mm mirror lens ( I just fancied this one ? )
I have been using Ilford Delta 400 and have been blown away by the fine grain and fantastic contrast of this film.
I found a complete darkroom set up on Gumtree inc a Durst M670 for £50 and all in very good condition
It is nice to smell developer and fixer again after all these years.
Cheers

Good Morning from Pontypridd,
Can anyone tell me if a Paterson safelight is ok to use with Ilford multigrade paper, the Ilford / Harman tech sheet states that a Ilford SL1 light should be used, is the standard Paterson light the same as the SL1 ?
Thank you
Paul

Done that already, made sun pictures out in the garden last Sunday and fixed them with vinegar and orange juice, My 15 year old daughters face was a sight to see when the image started to show on some old paper .

Hi all,
This is my first post, I have just dug out my 40 year old Spotmatic 2 and put a couple of rolls of Kodak 400asa colour through it, I had it processed by Jessops in Cardiff and was very pleased with the results.
I have lost the enthusiasm with digital and made the leap back to real photography, last weekend I found a complete colour darkroom outfit for sale on Gumtree from a chap in Penarth with a Durst M670 enlarger, Durst timer, Paterson system 1000 exposure meter all the trays, tanks and washers you could ask for, he only wanted £50 for it.
I cant wait to get it all set up, I haven't had a darkroom since 1984 when I had to sell all my gear during the miners strike.
Cheers
