I tried to buy the K50 ebook, but it said I did not have the right status, so I made a donation thinking that would allow me marketplace rights but still not allowed to buy the ebook.........Help.

Trying to get to know how to ........well everything......only second ever month of DSLR ownership.................
Anyway......decided to do the following on advice: setting to AV manual aperture .........went through stops from 1.8 to 13.....can now see how depth of field works, how bokeh is affected, sharpness and softness etc...........feel like I am learning something useful now.
Here are 2 of the shots, probably sharpest ones. first is at 5.6
second at 6.3

Finally got hold of the lens...............Just had a half hour or so to try it today, kept it very simple: Scene mode "landscape" and that is it..........I will play around with it in greater depth when I have a bit more time.
So the pics are nothing special compared to some of the outstanding ones on this thread but I am sure I will enjoy this lens.

Also known as Love-in-a-mist.....Going to take some shots of mine when the DA50-1.8 arrives next week!
I am new to DSLR and serious photography in general......Up until recently just been a snapshotter with a point n shoot compact, but got the urge when seeing the results my friend and my son got from their outfits. So I got a K50 with usual 18-55 DA WR and also in the kit a DA55-300 WR..............I was amazed at how good the results came out even in my hands...............Then tried a few manual lenses, got a couple I will keep, a Chinon 50mm 1.7 and a Pentax M 135-3.5.
But of course these can be a bit slow to hand when a photo opp appears, so decided to get an AF. I was looking around for a used one, ( not much budget!) but saw the DA50-1.8 new for £79 so just got that..............I hope to be able too get some shots soon and put something on here.

Hello, Just got my first DSLR and after lots of looking chose Pentax ( I think you all know why!)
I have to get around on a mobility scooter since health changed a couple of years ago, and found I could manage all but the toughest nature reserve trails. My camera on these trips was a compact First a Fuji FX1
and lately a Sony DSC HX90, both brilliant compacts but neither much use on a sunny day, the LCDs just hopeless in all but the most favourable conditions.
My friend who went along took his Canon EOS 550D and happily snapped away getting some very nice shots..............One look through his optical viewfinder decided me It had to be a DSLR.
Yesterday I bought a K50 and a bundle, an 18-55 DA WR and a 55-300 DA WR, with a UV lens for each. My son today gave me a K mount f28 mm 1:2.8 auto macro lens which has the Clubman name....He also had a stack of similar by Centon Tamron, etc but this had by far the best clearest and brightest picture with great colours, probably known as a cheap nasty lens but it beat all the others, so I am grateful for that gift.
I had already bought a Hama bag, a 64GB class 10 UH3 SDXC card and so now just have to learn how to use a DSLR............
PS the whole K50 and 2 lens kit was GBP399, the lens alone retails at GBP300, so looking at it that way I got the K50 and the 18-55 for GBP99!!!!!!
