Now when I review photos I have taken with the K1, crosshairs are displayed over the photo. I cannot figure out how to turn this crosshair feature off. They did not used to be there, so I must have bumped something to cause these crosshairs to display. Any suggestions?

Time lapse / Stop motion

I am really getting into doing stop motion videos. I have a Pentax K-1 and K-3 II. I have been reading articles, purchasing dynamic perceptions motion control equipment and spending a great deal of time learning and experimenting. I keep reading about the "holy grail" of how to successfully accomplish day to night scenes...sunsets/sunrises and the like. The articles I have read recommend "software/hardware controlled ramping" as the best technique, and recommend products that work with Nikon, Canon, but no Pentax. Is there a software/hardware ramping system compatible with Pentax out there somewhere? Thanks...

Pentax K 1 shattered LCD Screen

Thank you to everyone for your good advice and insights. I have decided to "bite the bullet" and ship it to Precision. I agree with Adam and Apet-Sure and mee, better to get it completely evaluated for any "collateral" damage that may have occurred as a result of impact.

Pentax K 1 shattered LCD Screen

My worst nightmare came true during Hurricane Newton here in the Baja. I lost my balance and my camera and I took a tumble...my camera getting the worst of it, striking the ground and shattering the LCD screen.

No where to get it fixed here in the Baja. I checked the Pentax/Ricoh website and was re-directed to "Precision Camera" which is listed as Ricohs official repair facility.

I was told to ship them the camera and that the minimum service charge is $300 some dollars, AND...they don't ship outside the USA, so to get it back I have to have it shipped to family in the US who will turn around and ship it to me.

Precision could not tell me how much it would cost to replace the LCD screen, just that they would have to "evaluate" the repair once they get the camera.

Does anyone know of any other options available to me?

Thanks,
Mike H.

Thank you for taking the time and putting the effort into explaining this...I tried doing this following another websites "step by step" posting, and I got totally lost because it got way too technical.

End of the day. The fisherman has gone home, leaving his small panga anchored near the Malecoń, La Paz, BCS, Mexico. In the distance a cruise ships departs from the port in Pichilingua.

This is a photo of the milky way. Long exposure, with some clouds building up to the east, making a "paint brush" kind of effect combined with the lights from the city of La Paz, about 25 miles across the Sea of Cortez.

Does the k3 II star tracker feature work with manual focus lenses? I have a Rokinon 14mm that was recommended in an astrophotography forum...but serious star trails are showing up. Thank you for any info provided...
