I was attending a graduation ceremony earlier this year in which one of the students giving a speech actually said that her generation had faced more adversity than an other generation. Yeah this recently turned 18 year old drawing on her vast first hand experience of hard times thought hers was the absolute worse ever! Oh you mean because you had to go to school on Zoom for half a year? Yeah, you had it much worse than the generations who fought world wars, or any of the numerous generations who grew up during economic or natural disasters. Yeesh.

The submissions are fantastic! I'm truly inspired by browsing them. Not just the images, but the stories shared by the submitters. I'm also struck by the world-wide representation! The beauty of the monthly contest is you get to "Pick the photo you think should win the contest"! If you think a "well processed" image should win, pick it! If you think a "natural" looking one should win, pick it! We all get a vote. Personally, I simply pick the one I like to look the most. Sometimes it's processed, sometimes it's natural, sometimes it's purely my emotional reaction, but it's always the one I think should win. I wish more forum users would submit pictures and vote. I think it's fun to submit and see what others have to say. Sometimes I think there's no way I'd ever win, but then some months a surprise winner emerges and I have renewed hope. If I submit 100 times and never win, I'll still enjoy it! The monthly contest is one of my favorite things about the forum.

I put together this panorama in Lightroom from shots captured from my balcony during my recent stay at Disney's Contemporary resort in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando), FL. I love the idea of panoramic shots, and appreciate when one's been well executed. So I try to take advantage of opportunities like this one to practice the capture, stitching and processing them. I would appreciate feedback!

Congrats! I kept my K100D for sentimental reasons, as it was my first DSLR, but I pull it out from time to time to shoot. I love the combo with the 16-50mm, which is my favorite lens. I've converted 2 lenses I already had, and I've gotten 3 "manual only" specials that I converted. All thanks to this thread and especially @UncleVanya.

Fresh cilantro to me it tastes like a stink bug smells. I got no problem with brussels sprouts though. They are yummy if they are prepared correctly.

Yeah anymore the only thing "colorful" about NASCAR drivers is the ads on their fire suits. Some of the kids driving in NASCAR now wouldn't even recognize those guys. I live 2 miles from Bristol Motor Speedway, and have been to dozens of races there. You'd think I worked for Home Depot if you looked in my closet! I loved to watch because the drivers were distinct, they had personality. Things just seemed to get cookie cutter and corporate in recent years. I think the last time I watched a race even on TV was 2019.
