Hi Suzhouren,
Apologies, the lens is the 18-250 (I corrected the post but forgot to edit the title :o)
Anyway - I am very much obliged to you, your advice proved to be 100% spot-on: I found the screw under the rubber grip and it had come loose - tightened it up accordingly and all is now good.
Many thanks!

Hi,
I've been using a Pentax DA 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 Lens for a couple of years and been really pleased with it. Clearly it's not a top-end lens but for my budget it has proved excellent and a really versatile workhorse that I rarely take off the camera.
One of its features is a "zoom lock", designed to lock the zoom mechanism at the 18mm position when the camera/lens isn't being used.
Whilst away on holiday recently the lens has become locked "permanently" at the 18mm position even when the zoom lock itself it "off", so the lens cannot now be zoomed at all.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so do they have any hints for addressing the issue? Is it worth trying to get repaired or is the cost likely to be about the same as buying a new lens? Any other recommendations?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm wondering if someone on here may be able to offer some advice. I have a Pentax K100D and in the last few months I have noticed the occasional appearance of regular horizontal interference lines on some of my images. It isn't all images as far as I can tell. The attached image shows the problem. This was taken with a Tamron XR DiII 18-200mm lens at F5.6, 1/125th exposure, ISO 400.
I am a bit concerned that I have a problem with the camera's sensor, and even though the problem doesn't appear on every image it is there often enough to be an issue.
Any thoughts would be welcome.
